Where we teach:

photography course locations

Our students are from all walks of life

Our approach to photography courses is to make them as interesting and accessible as possible, while still getting over the information needed.  As professional educators and communicators we work at some of the nation’s most popular destinations, teaching photography workshops to beginners and to those who want to make a career in photography. We believe that the camera you have is usually good enough when used properly.  When we recommend equipment, it’s always what you need, based on our years of experience.

We’ve taught photography classes to nearly two thousand people in locations all over the UK.  We love what we do, and many of our students do too.  Our customers vary in age from (so far) seven to mid-seventies, and we’ve seen people of all backgrounds.  As well as teaching private individuals, we’ve taught for some of the country’s finest state and private schools, as well as for the National Trust and corporate organisations from the City of London.  We’ve taught people so famous we can’t even tell you who they are!

We get a lot of testimonials – here’s a flavour (there are loads more here):

  • “Just a quick thank you for the Creative photography course yesterday. With your pure enthusiasm for the subject and obvious joy in seeing others achieve it was a superb course, and to go home with a selection of photo’s that I would be happy to publish and hang on the wall was some achievement for both of us. Thank you.
Dave, Creative course, Severn Valley Railway 2011
  • “I attended your DSLR course at Ashton Court on Sat 12th November 2011 and would like to say thank you for a great day! Whilst I already had a reasonable amount of technical knowledge after using my camera for about 12 months, I had also become more aware of the things I didn’t know so I came pre-loaded with many questions about my photography and kit that either needed answering or re-justifying to help increase confidence in my own ability. You managed to answer ALL of these in a friendly, informal and helpful way, thank you. The DSLR class had such a wide variety of people with different interests and levels of experience but you still managed to meet everyone’s needs/expectations. Now I just need loads of practice, which could take a while, but at some point I’ll try to submit something for you to critique.
Anyway, I would thoroughly recommend this course to anyone, whether just starting out or wanting to improve their photography. I’d like to come back on one of your creative courses next year.”
    Stuart, Ashton Court 2011
  • “Just a quick line to say many thanks for your inspirational photography course yesterday as you said I have some lovely photos and I really enjoyed the day immensely. It was great that it was technical and motivational as well. I shall come to one of your Creative Photography Courses in the new year as would love to do some more photography with you.”
    Paula, Stourhead Wiltshire 2011
  • “Just a quick message to say a very, very big thank you for a most enjoyable, interesting and informative course. It has really enlivened me to get going and be creative again. Chris would also like to thank you for the nice gesture of allowing her to join for lunch and see everyone’s work.
I will certainly be booking for one of your landscape photography courses next spring or summer. We have also recommended your courses to a couple of our friends, who like me have been on previous photography courses which have been a disaster. Thank you once again, and look forward to seeing you again next year.”
    Stewart, Bristol 2011
  • “I had a very enlightening day and everything that I had tried to get to grips with over the last year, became much clearer. I still have lots of practice to get those super shots, but was very encouraged and not so intimidated by my lovely camera. I am definitely not going to put it on Auto!!!! Thanks again for your patience with us all it was a good fun day. I am sure I will be booking other photography courses after a bit of practice.”
Andrea, Beecraigs Country Park Scotland 2011
  • “Just a note to say thanks again for the excellent DSLR Photography course I attended last Saturday at Culzean. It was a well presented, informative, and thoroughly enjoyable experience. I’ve raved about it so much to my wife that she has already promised to get me a gift certificate for one of the advanced courses as a Christmas present.”
    Don, Culzean Castle Scotland 2011
  • “I had the pleasure of attending one of your D-SLR courses in Birmigham. I have noticed a huge change in the quality of my images and I never ever use the automatic mode anymore. Even my wife is impressed with my snaps these days!!”
    Dr.K.S.Rabindranath MRCP.,PhD, Birmingham 2011
  • “Thank you so much for your time and humour on the Shugborough Hall photography course on the 26th of June. I found it to be extremely useful and have already been putting my new found knowledge to good use! I must admit I thought I would have been out of my depth but you really made me feel comfortable and at ease! A completely great day all round and would recommend one of your photography courses to anyone!”
    Dave, Shugborough, Staffordshire 2011
  • “I just thought I’d drop you a quick line to thank you so much for such an informative, easy going, easy to understand and helpful photography course. I found your approach to the subject relaxed but super enthusiastic. Your company name “Photography Made Simple” is spot on.”
