On our holiday we visited (nay, stayed overnight in) the extremely creepy Chillingham castle in Nortumberland. Even for sceptics like myself, it’s a very scary place.

It’s loomed large on TV’s Most Haunted – have a look for it on You Tube. My pictures show the scratches on the inside of the dungeon door, and a few creepy things around the place. The owner, Sir Humphry Wakefield, has a bat as part of his coat of arms, so naturally has a huge bat weathervane above the place.

Oh and the picture is Chillingham’s Spanish Witch. Eeek
