What a beautiful sunny day….Steve and James produced some absolutely stunning photographs today. In fact they both had natural, creative eyes. It’s not always easy when there are loads of people around, so they did a great job! The challenge is always to come up with a new viewpoint which no-one else has thought of, so well done!!

Creative photography course in sunny Weston!

Rachel had a brilliant day teaching the Creative photography course…the sun was shining, we went down to the Pier, and apart from having an ice-ream, it was just perfect!
Bruce, Lee and Pete really came up with some amazing shots, and enjoyed the challenges Rachel set them. As ever, household objects placed ‘out of context’, and having a ‘job’ to do, a focus, and a reason for bothering to take their camera’s out and press the shutter!!

People photography at Ashton Court

Today was fantastic…people course at Ashton Court with Lynne and Mike. The challenge was to produce photo’s during the morning shoot that could be used for website/advertising…ie ‘showing the face we present to the world’. This was obviously related to their professions, and really quite challenging! They had to come up with a list of words which describe the ‘face they show to the world’. Then the next challenge was to photograph each other as they really are, and the big question is: “Who are you really?”. A very different set of pictures reflecting the real person, and fascinating.  Well done Lynne and Mike…you rose to the challenge, especially when you have never met that person before!

Creative course at Ashton court

We had a great day at Ashton Court…despite being bitterly cold and a grey, dull sky. The tasks given on the Creative course certainly focus your mind and sharpen up your creativity! Photographing with a clear purpose will transform your photography. The photographs from today just illustrate that it’s not about the weather, location or ‘perfect whatever’, it’s about your intention!

It’s a big mistake to think that that ‘moment of inspiration’ will hit you between the eyes, and jump out at you…..it won’t! You have to look for and make your photographs! Think of it as a Photography Treasure Hunt…..all those amazing images are there, just hiding and waiting for you to find them!

And don’t set yourself up for failure by waiting until you can have a whole day to yourself….we all know how likely that’ll be!
