Creative photography course at Charlecote Park

What a fantastic day we had today…loads of fun and some amazing photo’s into the bargain!! Lynne is back again, and so is Jean! Steve made up the trio!
All three took some very unusual and considered shots, and found the exercise of going out into the landscape for half an hour without their camera’s to ‘feel’ the landscape an unusual but surprisingly interesting and incredibly useful exercise.

Creative photography course in sunny Weston!

Rachel had a brilliant day teaching the Creative photography course…the sun was shining, we went down to the Pier, and apart from having an ice-ream, it was just perfect!
Bruce, Lee and Pete really came up with some amazing shots, and enjoyed the challenges Rachel set them. As ever, household objects placed ‘out of context’, and having a ‘job’ to do, a focus, and a reason for bothering to take their camera’s out and press the shutter!!

Creative photography course in Malvern

Well despite being dull and rainy, we had a great day being creative! Lynne had already done our DSLR course, and she came back to test her skills at being a bit more creative! Sally had a good working knowledge of her camera, and was keen to flex her creative muscles!

As ever, Rachel is keen to push people out of their ‘comfort zones’, and is always quoting Albert Einstein: “The definition of insanity is to keep doing the same thing over and over again, and expect it to turn out differently”…..and how true that is with your photography!!

It was a really fantastic day, and Sally and Lynne both went home with several images they’re proud enough of to enlarge and put up on their walls…as promised by Rachel as ever!!

Wedding Photography course in Malvern

Posted in Malvern Hills, Worcestershire on April 12th, 2012 by Phil and Rachel – Be the first to comment

Bill and John came to Malvern to learn how to photograph a wedding…they have got one booked later in the year. As always, we go through the entire day, step-by-step, including settings, lenses, flash, ISO, must-have photo’s etc. We always make sure that people go away feeling confident, with a ‘recipe’ sheet, and all the knowledge to cover the entire day from Bride getting ready to the first dance. Also, we reassure people that if they get stuck/forget anything, we are always on the end of the phone to talk it through.

They did some pretend preparation photo’s, and we also went down to Great Malvern Priory to practice low-light shots…..a real problem for wedding photographers! It was a pretty full-on and intense day, but we covered so much and had fun along the way!

We can also give business advice, and how to go about getting more work. We had to learn the hard way  ie straight in at the deep end all those years ago!!
