Photography Days Out at Portmeirion, North Wales

photography made simple at Portmeirion Village

Photography at Portmeirion is unique, so we’re starting our new “days out” service here. Our photography days out are not a formal course, but designed to give you as much time as possible in this amazing environment, with expert hands-on tuition.

Unlike our regular courses, on days out we include entry, lunch and a private tour of the village in the price of the day. We spend the bulk of the day “the village,” but still get to review our pictures with expert guidance. Our experts are on call throughout the day to assist you to get pictures you want with the camera you have, and as always, loan cameras are available.

The astonishing estate in North Wales was built by the eccentric architect Clough Williams Ellis. Williams Ellis referred to it as his “home for fallen buildings,” as he was sent bits of buildings from all over the country.

It was used as the perfect backdrop for “The Prisoner” in the 1960′s, and more recently as the home of CBeebie’s Captain Adorable. We have the run of “the village” and the spectacular gardens. We can even access the camera obscura, which is not normally open to the public. Discounts are available for accommodation if you are having a photography day out – please ask at the village. For more details see the Portmeirion website.
