Photography Courses Staffordshire | Shugborough Estate

Photography Courses at Shugborough are a great idea, both logically and artistically. It was the home and backdrop of the late Patrick Lichfield, among many other things the wedding photographer for Charles and Diana. First seen as a dilletante aristocrat, he came to be seen as one of the most important photographers of his generation. He took important and iconic photos in the grounds, and an exhibition of his works is currently on display. The more you look at Lichfield’s portraits, the more you realise how good he really was.
This historic estate is the home of the Earls of Lichfield. Visitors can view the entire estate, including all its major working historic buildings, set in their original parkland with several historic landscape monuments, including the famous Shugborough coded inscription which may hold the secret to the Holy Grail. Costumed staff make great portrait photography subjects, and the animals, fountains, statues and landscaped grounds (including a man-made bend in the river) are great subjects for all kinds of photography.
Shugborough Estate is now closed to the public for the Winter – it opens again in late March 2012. Larger private groups and corporate groups can still be booked – please call us for details.
Your course price includes entry to Shugborough House and grounds. There is a great cafe. For more details and how to get there see the Shugborough website.
