Photography Courses Sussex
Sheffield Park Gardens, England
For photography courses Sussex has some great spaces but Sheffield Park Gardens are some of the best. It’s a magnificent garden landscaped by ‘Capability’ Brown, with waterfalls, cascades and four large lakes. There are exotic specimen trees and usually a good selection of waterfowl on the four lakes.
We start at 10am and finish at 5pm at the Danehill Memorial Hall in Danehill, about two miles north of the gardens, and travel down together. Your course price includes entry to the gardens.
This magnificent informal landscape garden was laid out in the 18th century by ‘Capability’ Brown and further developed in the early years of the 20th century by its owner, Arthur G. Soames.
There are four lakes in the centre. There are dramatic shows of daffodils and bluebells in spring, and the rhododendrons and azaleas are spectacular in early summer, and a tree recently felled by lightning. There are great views in all weathers. Autumn brings stunning colours from the many rare trees and shrubs, and winter walks can be enjoyed in this garden for all seasons. Visitors can now also explore South Park, 107 hectares (265 acres) of historic parkland, with stunning views. For photography courses Sussex has some of the best terrain in the South of England.
“Course completed. Thank you I felt it very worthwhile and now a lot to practice and improve the use of the facilities.”

- “Thank you for the course notes and for a great day last Saturday. I really enjoyed gaining a (slightly!) better understanding of my camera, hopefully this is the start of learning to unlock it’s potential. Certainly more enjoyable than forcing myself to sit down and read the instruction book!”
