Portmeirion is unique, so we started our new “days out” service here. Our photography days out are not a formal course, but designed to give you as much time as possible in this amazing environment.
On days out we include entry, lunch and a private tour of the village in the price of the day. We spend the bulk of the day in “the village,” but still get to review our pictures with expert guidance. We help you to get the pictures you want with the camera you have, and as always, loan cameras are available. It’s a fantastic place to take think creative, take some pictures, eat an ice cream, and do it all over again.
The astonishing estate in North Wales was built by the eccentric architect Clough Williams Ellis, who referred to it as his “home for fallen buildings,” as he was sent bits of buildings from all over the country. If you’ve never been there it’s a great excuse to go. It makes an amazing photographic backdrop and has been used in numerous TV programmes – most notably The Prisoner. It’s a creative location in North Wales for photography courses.
Discounts are available for accommodation if you are taking photography courses North Wales at Portmeirion – please ask at the village. For more details see the Portmeirion website. We meet at the tollbooth at the entrance to the village at 10am and finish at about 4:30pm. If you want to meet up with your family for lunch or ice-creams during the day that’s fine.
