Photography course in Bradford at the National Media Museum
It was very nice of the city of Bradford to invest £24,000,000 on fountains just to give us something to look at on our photography courses. On a beautiful day we went out and photographed the flowers, and then the fountains. Water is one of those things that can look incredible, given the right shutter speed!
Although it’s a long way to travel, and parts of Bradford can be a bit terrifying at times, photograph courses in Bradford at the National Media Museum are a bit of a coup for us. THe people that come on the courses (so far at least) have really appreciated it. It is a great place to think about photography, with constantly-changing impressive exhibitions. The teaching rooms are also very well equipped and comfortable – what’s not to like?
We were very lucky with the weather on this course, so we got to explore outside, and there’s a lot to photograph in the centre of Bradford. There are some amazing buildings, and the fountains, while to be honest they don’t really look like £24,000,000 well spent, they are very nice! Buildings that are not at their best sometimes take the best pictures if you’re not going for that perfect-new-building look (which always seems to look like somewhere in prosperous West Germany to us). We are very keen to run more courses there, because we get the chance to mooch around the museum ourselves, although we have managed to miss being there to see Prometheus in 3D. The staff that work there are very on the ball and creative too, which is a bit of a rarity in that sector.
Currently there is an exhibition of the technology of the internet, which makes you feel old when you realise kit that you used to own is now in a museum!
